ALGORITHM OF DIAGNOSTICS AND MINIMALLY INVASIVE TREATMENT OF OBSTRUCTIVE JAUNDICE

Abstract


Background. In developed countries, there has been a steady increase in the incidence of cholelithiasis. Objective – to develop an algorithm for a differentiated approach to the use of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography with a diagnostic purpose.
Materials and methods. 356 patients with biliary obstruction syndrome of various etiologies were treated in the clinic.
Results. In 87 (24.4%) cases contrast study of extrahepatic bile ducts was not performed, what in its turn reduced the number and frequency of typical postoperative complications.
Conclusion. The conditions in which endoscopic retrograde pancreaticocholangiography can be performed were defined and the algorithm of diagnostic search and phasing of treatment of patients with biliary obstruction syndrome were elaborated.
